Fall 2024Our season had several activities including bucket drumming, children's choir, strings and ballet.
Spring 2024
The highlight of our spring semester was performing for the Community Concert along with several other groups including the Shelby Community Choir, SHS choir and Sunburst ensembles.
Our younger group performed “Green Eggs and Ham”, our older group performed “The World Will Know” from the newsies and we joined the Community Choir to perform the finale piece “From Now On” from the Greatest Showman. The strings group prepared two pieces, "Ashokan Farewell" and "Boil 'Em Cabbage" which we performed both at the Community Concert and also at the Marias Heritage Center. Fall 2023Our fall season started in October and finished at the beginning of December with several performances. While each group performed for the Christmas Stroll on Main Street, the Marias Museum Open House and at Logan Health Assisted Living, each group also had the opportunity to perform separately.
Our Bucket Drumming group did a wonderful job performing in the Parade of Lights, earning first place in our category. Our Children’s Choir performed their favorite piece "Reindeer Twist" for the Shelby Elementary School assembly and our String Ensemble performed for the Tree Lighting Memorial Celebration. During this celebration, community members place an ornament in honor of loved ones who have passed or are in active military service. |

Spring 2023
This spring, our Children’s Choir and String Ensemble collaborated with local musician Diane Hould, to host an Ecumenical Concert. All local churches were invited to participate in the program with a song or two. The community was invited to perform in one final song for the concert finale. We had a wonderful community response with 5 different church denominations choosing to participate and our venue packed to overflowing! We followed up with a special performance for the residents of the Logan Health Assisted Living. |

Fall 2022
This semester we chose to explore drama and music with the Art Reach Musical Play, "Treasure Island". We had a good turn out for auditions and were able to give all 32 kids from 1st grade through 7th grade a role in the play. We had a blast working together to create a dramatic and humorous rendition focusing on expression, projection and having fun! |

Spring 2022
Our spring season of Strings ‘N Things focused on our amazing strings! Our String Ensemble prepared three pieces to play in a joint performance with Great Falls' fiddlers Louise Steinway and Isaac Callender. Our Children’s choir had several fun pieces to round out the program, including a pirate song in which the kids were able to dress up and use rhythm sticks to really bring the music alive. Our community outreach this semester was to host a weekend of free fiddling classes, open to the whole community, with Louise and Isaac leading instruction. We had 10 people participate in the beginners fiddling class and 3 participants in the intermediate group. |

Fall 2021
This Fall semester program we had the opportunity for our Children’s Choir and String Ensemble to perform for the Marias Museum Open House, the residents of the Marias Heritage Center, and be a part of the Galata School program. Our singers were accompanied by their fellow students on drums for their song “Shepherd’s Joy” and they enjoyed hamming up their actions for the humorous piece “Rollicking Frollicking Santa”. Our string players performed Jingle Bells and The First Noel; our freshman violist, Penelope Heaton, accompanied the choir on “The Hands that First Held Mary’s Child”. |
